Frequently Asked Questions
Straightforward answers about Direct Primary Care at Good Health
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership-based approach to primary care. Instead of paying for
each office visit, members pay a predictable monthly fee for ongoing access to their primary care provider.
Because we care for a much smaller number of patients than is typical in a traditional fee-for-service
practice, we can offer longer appointments, better access, and more individualized care.
Yes. Better access to your provider is one of the best parts of joining a Direct Primary Care practice.
Your membership includes unlimited primary care visits as medically appropriate, without an
additional office-visit charge each time you need us. Depending on your needs, care and communication may take place in person, by telephone, video, secure text, or secure electronic
messaging.
We also understand that health concerns do not always happen Monday through Friday from 8 to 5. If you are having an issue after hours or on the weekend that cannot reasonably wait until normal
business hours, please contact us. We want our members to know they have someone to turn to when they truly need help.
At the same time, we are a small, family-owned practice. If your question or concern can safely wait
until normal business hours, we kindly ask that you wait so that we can spend evenings, weekends,
and holidays with our family too.
For emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
One of the biggest advantages of Direct Primary Care is improved access. Traditional primary care providers may care for more than 1,500 patients, which can make it difficult to accommodate urgent
appointments.
At Good Health Direct Primary Care and Wellness, we plan to keep our membership panel below approximately 600 patients. This allows us to offer same-day or next-day appointments whenever
possible and gives us more flexibility to spend the time needed with each patient.
Yes. Routine primary care visits are included in your monthly membership, so you do not have to
worry about paying another office-visit fee every time you need to see us.
We want you to contact us when something is wrong rather than delaying care because you are
worried about the cost of another appointment.
No. Direct Primary Care is not health insurance. Your membership covers the primary care services
provided by our clinic, but it does not cover expenses such as hospitalizations, emergency-room
care, specialist visits, surgery, outside imaging, or other services performed outside our practice.
We encourage our members to maintain health insurance or another appropriate form of coverage for major and unexpected medical expenses.
The provider visit and interpretation of your results are included, but the actual cost of laboratory testing is not included in your membership.
We have partnered with Labcorp and can draw many ordered labs right here in our office for added convenience. Patients with insurance may choose to have eligible testing billed through their insurance. For patients paying cash, we can help identify lower-cost options when available.

the appropriate order and help coordinate your care.
You may use your health insurance, or we can help self-pay patients look for competitive cash-pay
options when available.
Many common primary care procedures performed in our office are included in your membership.
Examples may include suturing minor wounds and certain joint injections.
There is no additional provider procedure fee for covered services; however, you will be responsible for the at-cost price of medications and supplies needed to perform the procedure.
Prescription medications filled through an outside pharmacy are not included in your membership. When appropriate and available, we may be able to help members identify affordable medication
options.
Absolutely. Preventive medicine is an important part of our philosophy. Your membership includes routine wellness care and gives us time to discuss blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes risk, weight, nutrition, exercise, age-appropriate screening, medications, family history, and your personal health
goals.
Our goal is not simply to take care of you when you are sick. We want to work with you over time to
help you stay healthier and improve your quality of life.

SoftWave Shockwave Therapy is a separate service and is not included in your monthly membership. DPC members receive discounted SoftWave pricing.
SoftWave is a noninvasive treatment that uses acoustic waves to stimulate the body's natural healing response and may be considered for certain muscle, joint, tendon, ligament, back, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Please visit our SoftWave Therapy page to learn more.
Yes. We offer individualized medical weight-management programs and select peptide therapies when medically appropriate.
These are separate wellness services and may involve additional costs for medications, laboratory
testing, supplies, or treatment. DPC members receive discounted pricing on eligible wellness services.
We want to start your membership by actually getting to know you. New members receive an
extended 90-minute establish-care appointment. This gives us time to thoroughly review your medical history, medications, previous testing, current concerns, and healthcare goals.
Rather than trying to squeeze everything into a rushed appointment, we can develop a plan together and decide what we want to work on first.
Absolutely - and we encourage it. Schedule a complimentary 15-minute "Get to Know You" visit. You
will have an opportunity to meet us, see the clinic, ask questions, and learn more about how Direct
Primary Care works.
There is no obligation to join. We want you to feel confident that Good Health Direct Primary Care
and Wellness is the right fit for you and your family.
